Position: Group Lead
Beatrice is a visiting researcher at the University of Southampton, UK and an Evidence-based practice consultant. She is passionate about promoting Evidence-Based Practice in Physiotherapy globally.
Mary Wetani Agoriwo, PT., MSc., PhD (Candidate)
Position: Lead, Parkinson’s disease Research and Events Team
Mary Wetani Agoriwo is a neuro-physiotherapist and a lecturer at UHAS. She leads Parkinson’s disease research within the Evidence-based Practice group and is currently pursuing her PhD (Physiotherapy) at Stellenbosch University, South Africa.
Miss Adjoa Banson
Position: Co-lead, Quality Assurance Team and Chairperson, Scholarship Sub-Committee.
Miss Banson has a background in physiotherapy from the University of Ghana and the University of Otago. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Physiotherapy from the University of Cape Town and is a faculty of the University of Health and Allied Sciences.
Martin Ackah
Position: Lead, Cerebral Palsy Research and Co-lead, Research and Training Team
I am Martin Ackah, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiotherapy and a master’s in public health from the University of Ghana. I am currently a PhD candidate at Northumbria University in the UK.
Mr. Cosmos Yarfi
Position: Co-lead, Quality Assurance Team and member, Scholarship Sub-Committee.
Mr. Yarfi is a lecturer at the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho, Ghana. He is a PhD candidate at University of the Western Cape, South Africa specializing in stroke rehabilitation.
Hosea Boakye
Position: Lead, Low Back Pain Research and Public Relations Officer
Hosea Boakye is the Research lead for the low back pain and the Public Relations Officer of the Group. He holds a BSc in Physiotherapy and MPH from the University of Ghana. He is currently a PhD student at the Boston University, USA.
Akua Afiriyie Bilson PT, MSc. MA. MAHPC. MGPA.
Position: Lead, Stroke Research and Research and Training Team.
I am currently the Acting Head of the Physiotherapy Unit at The Trust Trust Hospital Company Limited (TTHCL), Osu, Greater-Accra, Ghana.
I hold an undergraduate degree in physiotherapy from the University of Ghana. I have a Master of Science degree in physiotherapy (neurorehabilitation) from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, and a Master of Art degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Cape Coast.
I am passionate about research and mentorship. I am goal-oriented and a great team player. I love travelling, teen counselling, and helping the vulnerable in society.
